Stephen Lang is the Founder and President of SunKey Insurance Group, a Florida-based independent insurance agency specializing in personal auto insurance and insurance technology. With more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Stephen has built a career focused on helping consumers find the right coverage at the lowest possible price while leveraging technology to simplify the insurance buying & service experience.

Stephen founded SunKey Insurance Group with the belief that consumers deserve transparency, choice, and expert guidance when purchasing insurance. Under his leadership, the agency has grown into one of Florida’s leading independent auto insurance agencies, representing numerous top-rated insurance carriers and serving drivers throughout the state. SunKey Insurance Group is headquartered in Maitland, Florida.

For more than three decades, Stephen has worked across virtually every aspect of the auto insurance value chain—from agency operations to digital customer acquisition, insurance technology, and strategic distribution partnerships. This experience has provided him with a deep understanding of the industry’s inefficiencies and a clear vision for how technology can improve the customer experience.

Under Stephen’s leadership, SunKey has developed SunKeyAutoRater, a proprietary insurance shopping platform that allows consumers to compare real insurance rates from multiple carriers in minutes without requiring a phone number or email address before receiving quotes. This privacy-first approach removes one of the largest friction points in online insurance shopping while creating a better customer experience and higher-quality consumer engagement.

Beyond his business endeavors, Stephen is passionate about educating consumers on auto insurance. He hosts The Auto Insurance Expert podcast, where he explains insurance topics such as shopping strategies, SR-22 filings, coverage options, and ways consumers can reduce their premiums.

Stephen earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University and resides in Central Florida, where he continues to lead SunKey Insurance Group’s growth while advocating for greater transparency, innovation, and consumer choice within the insurance industry.
